Botanical Gardens

Kaylin and I went to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens on Monday, November 19 and I took some pictures of Kaylin in her Christmas dress that Kay got for her. My mom and dad also came and I took some pictures of her with them as well. I have been playing around with the photos in a photo editing program and i hope you guys like them.

Oh how I miss her!

On Friday November 23, Kaylin (along with Tim and Kay) got on a plane to go to Minnesota to meet her great-grandparents for the first time (Tim's mom and dad). We are now going on day three (last time we saw her was Thursday) of me not seeing her and I am miserable! I am so in love with that beautiful little girl, and I am so greatful that God has placed her in our lives. We are so undeserving of such an amazing child. I've spent a lot of time lately being upset with God, as some of you know we are trying to have another baby and have yet to be successful. Some days I am okay with everything we have been through this last year and other days I am out right MAD! It has been hard for me to comprehend why people who either aren't trying, or teenagers, or people who can't afford it, or people who are just sleeping around with whoever are getting pregnant and we aren't. It is in these last few days that I have realized how truly blessed we are. We were able to have a beautiful, healthy little girl and at the time we had her many people could have said the same things about us as I have been saying about the people above. We were not trying to have a baby, and we definitely couldn't afford it, but God knew what he was doing when he blessed us with Kaylin. Many couples go their entire lives and are unable to have children, so I should be thankful for the one that we were given.

Kaylin comes home tomorrow night and I can't wait to hold her in my arms, hug her and tell her how much I love her and how she is our greatest gift that God has given us, aside from the gift of everlasting life!

I hope you all have a fabulous week! And remember to be thankful for all things in life whether big or small!

Happy Birthday To ME!!!!

Okay, so I was going to save all my money from my birthday and christmas to buy a new camera. A Nikon D40, it is a small, cute, digital slr. Well, Jon surprised me with it for my birthday, so played with the camera some on Friday night (since Friday was my birthday), and then we went to the park today and took some pictures of Kaylin. So here are some of the photos I took. Some of these we are going to send in as head shoots to try to get Kaylin into modeling and maybe even some tv.......we will see what happens.

Halloween

Okay, so as a lot of you know Kaylin was sick all week during the last week of October. So we didn't get to go to Trunk or Treat at our church. We were really sad (more me than Jon and Kaylin) that Kaylin wasn't going to be able to get dressed up in her flapper costume and show everyone how cute she was, but Jon came up with an awesome idea! We would just go trick or trerating on another night. So we got my mom (dad was working), jon's grandma, the chapman family (friends of ours from church), and jon's mom and dad to play along. We got Kaylin all dressed up in her costume and went to all the houses and did our trick or treating. She got a ton of candy and had a blast. She didn't really get what was going on at the first house but picked up on what was going on and she loved it!!! So here are some pictures of Kaylin in her costume.

Potty Training

Okay, so we are officially potty training. Kaylin is becoming more and more consistent in telling us that she needs to go potty. At first she would tell us that she needed to go and then she would just sit there and smile at us with this goofy look on her face but now she is actually going to the bathroom.

On another note she is the tidiest person I know. I don't know where she gets it because Jon and I are both really bad about cleaning up! She loves to pick up though. She loves to throw away trash and put her toys back in her toy box. Hopefully she will keep this habit throughout her teenage years.......but I won't hold my breath.

Kaylins New Do

Okay so the other night I gave Kaylin a bath and after she was finished playing in the bath I told her we needed to brush her hair. So after I brushed her hair I asked her if I could dry her hair and she said yeah! So I blow dried her hair and then I straightened she looked so different. It was neat to see how she would look if she had straight hair.

Plates are Hats!

Okay so we were eating dinner the other night and Jon said "hey look at kaylin." When I looked over at her she had dumped all of the food off of her plate and put the plate on her head. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

POOP!

Okay so it has been a while since I have been able to get on the internet and do anything! So here I am once again to give everyone an update. Kaylin turned TWO on June 23......I know I can't believe it either. She is getting so big and talking a lot. She has started to recently show her imagination which has been amusing at times. For example today she told me that her little friend Ethan (who is five) tooted. I said "Kaylin you didn't see Ethan today." She said,"Oh........Kallie tooted." Kallie is another one of her little friends (who has been in Florida since the 24 of June). I said "Kaylin you didn't see Kallie today she's in Florida." She just started laughing. It was so cute. She has also informed me that there is a baby in her tummy. I have some friends that are pregnant and we have told Kaylin that there is a baby in their tummy so now she thinks she has a baby in her tummy.

Lets see what else has happened. She finally used the potty again, it was very exciting. She cracked me up. She went to the bathroom and when she got up and saw what was in the potty, she got so excited and told Jon, " Daddy, look......POOP!" Let me tell you Jon was not to thrilled to be looking at Kaylins poop. He did a good job though of telling her how proud he was of her. Well that about does it for now. Hopefully it won't be as long between posts next time.

Big Girl!

Okay about a week or two ago I was getting ready to lay Kaylin down in her crib and she became very angry with me and said NO! Mommy's bed. I asked her is she wanted to sleep in her crib and she said no baby. I asked her if she wanted to sleep in a bed like mommy's and she said yeah. So I took the railing off (because our crib turns into a day bed and full size head board/ foot board) and put her into the day bed and she went to sleep no problem. So we let her sleep in the day bed for a few nights and then we went and bought her a big girl bed. It is a really cute toddler bed with railings attached. I will post pictures soon.

Daddy Mine

Okay, so the other day Jon and I were sitting on the couch hugging and cuddling and Kaylin came into the living room and she got very upset. She came over to me and told me "NO! Daddy Mine!!!" She was very persistent, she started crying and wanted me to get away from Jon. We thought maybe she was just tired and wanted her daddy well, for about the last week she has gotten very upset any time I touch Jon. She does not want me to touch him at all!!! It is pretty funny and kind of disturbing at the same time.

Daddy.....Monkey?

Okay so Jon doesn't think this is funny but I do and so does Kay. Tim and Kay took Kaylin to the Zoo on Saturday while Jon and I had to work. Kaylin LOVES the zoo, she loves animals and her favorite area of the zoo is the primates. Well Kaylin being the independent person she is was pushing her stroller at the zoo (telling Tim and Kay NO when they tried to help) and she pushed it up to the gorilla display. Standing in front of the glass window staring at this big gray haired gorilla Kaylin pointed and yelled excitedly "DADDY!!!". Hahaha. Poor Jon.

Mommy's Not Fast Enough

Okay so it is definitely time to start potty training Kaylin. Last night we were at D.I.G, which is the junior high fellowship/bible study at our church, and Kaylin was grabbing her diaper and said "potty". I asked her if she needed to go potty or needed a new diaper and she said "potty". So we went to the bathroom and I took her pants off and was about to take her diaper off and she started to pee in her diaper. I just wasn't fast enough but she did a really good job of telling me she had to go. I was SO proud of her and she was very excited.

Fluke or The Start of Something New?

Okay, so today has been a CRAZY day!!!! Yesterday Jon and I were talking about whether or not Kaylin is ready to potty train. She has gotten into the habit of bringing us a diaper and wipes when she needs a new diaper. So I was thinking well maybe she is ready to start potty training but Jon said no because she is telling us after she goes to the bathroom not before she goes. Well, this morning she brought me a diaper after she woke up and I changed her diaper and we ate breakfast and she started playing. Then a few hours later, she came over to me and patted her belly and said "pah". I said "Do you need to go potty?" and she said "YEAH!" I was thinking yeah right there is no way, but I thought I would indulge her and I took off her pants and diaper and sat her down on the potty. Wouldn't you know after about two minutes of just sitting there I said "Are you sure you need to go potty?" and she said "Yeah" and she went!!!!!!! I just sat there in amazement! I told her I was very proud of her and that she was such a big girl!!! Needless to say I think this is just a freak accident but who knows it could be the start of a whole new world for us!

Kaylin's First Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday was Easter as many of you know and we had a wonderful lunch out at Tim and Kay's house. After we ate lunch they had an Easter Egg hunt for Kaylin. It was very cute to watch. She had a little easter basket and not all of the eggs would fit in the basket. So after she put about four eggs in her basket she couldn't really fit anymore in the basket, but that didn't keep her from trying. It was really funny because she would try to put another egg in her basket and then lean over to pick up another egg and the egg she had just put in would fall out but she just thought she had found another egg. Finally Papa (that is what she calls Tim), helped her out by holding the rest of her eggs in his hands. It was very sweet! Her little eggs had either money or a m'n'm in it. Her level of excitement over the candy and money was the same. She loves to play with change and she has never tried to put the coins in her mouth which is amazing to me. She is starting to really look like a little girl instead of a baby now and we are so excited to see her grow and change!

Kaylin's Easter Pictures

Okay, so I have a friend who is an AMAZING photographer and she has been such a blessing to Jon and I. She has does several sittings with Kaylin and her pictures are always incredible. She did Kaylins Easter pictures last year and again this year. We all went to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens the Monday before Easter and had a picnic and took pictures. Here are some of the pictures she took of Kaylin.

Kaylin's First

This past week Kaylin said her first complete sentence. It was so AWESOME!!! She came up to me and said "Mommy eat!" She was ready for dinner. It was really cute. I am looking forward to hearing her speak more sentences.
